" Little Women"

 

The Gem Players open their 17th season with Louisa May Alcott's heartwarming family classic, "LITTLE WOMEN".

Based on Louisa May Alcott's own family experiences, LITTLE WOMEN follows the lives of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America . The beloved story of the March sisters is as relevant today as when they were written. LITTLE WOMEN embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears and the lifting of the spirit.

November 27, 28, December 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 at 7:30 p.m. and November 29, December 6 and 13 at 2:30 p.m.

Due to popular demand, and after many years of sold out dinners, we are offering two Christmas dinners on December 5 and 12 at the L&N Depot.  Stroll across the street to the Gem Theater after dinner to enjoy the play.  Call 423.263.3270 to make reservations.  Sorry, complimentary tickets are not valid for the dinner and show.

 

"Don't Cry for Me, Margaret Mitchell"

                                            

 

When the winter blues start coming in February, the Gem is the place to be for non-stop laughter.  We are thrilled to bring you this hilarious comedy that debuted at the famous Barter Theater in Abingdon , VA last summer to sold out audiences.  If you liked "Gone With the Wind you will love this story.  It is 1939 and David O. Selznick has locked himself, a writer, and a director in his office to rewrite the script to GWTW in one week!  It took Margaret Mitchell 10 years to write the book!

"Death and Taxes"

 

The Gem Players close their season with an audience-pleasing mystery dinner theater at the L&N Depot in Etowah, directly across from the Gem Theater. 

 

A small town city council meeting turns into a side-splitting whodunnit as the Mayor and Sheriff search for the murderer of an IRS agent visiting the town. Trouble is, no one seems upset!

 

We are happy to announce that due to the popularity of our productions and sold-out audiences we are adding a second weekend this season.  Due to limited seating, we encourage you to make your reservations early.  Dates for the show are April 8, 9, 10, 16, 16, 17 with April 11 and 18 as dessert-only shows.  Call now!
